Australia is fortunate to have several psychological and counselling services available. Counselling can help people from all different walks of life. While people may perceive counselling as being targeted at those with mental health illnesses, it can actually help you navigate through life transitions, seek clarity, and even work through day-to-day challenges.
According to research, a good match between counsellor and client is the most significant predictor for successful therapy. Knox Mindfulness believes in ensuring the relationship is suitable for the client and counsellor.
Our scheduled fees for an individual counselling session are $130 per session (with concession rates on offer). In comparison, a Psychologist under an MHCP charges $200 or higher, with a rebate of $93.35, leaving an out-of-pocket of $106.65.
The APS recommends that psychologists charge $300 per 45-60 minutes.
PACFA recommends that counsellors charge $160 per session.
We pride ourselves on keeping our costs down so that many people can access the necessary services.

Currently, we only offer WorkSafe Victoria under services with Kristy-Lee. Therefore, it is best to mention this during your initial phone call. WorkSafe considers counselling a referred service. A medical practitioner must provide a referral before treatment commences, but prior approval from WorkSafe is not required.
WorkSafe does not allow counsellors to provide referrals to other services.
